Nataliia is very keen on reviving the centuries old traditions of Ukrainian folk painting style called ‘Samchykivka’. Originated in a village of Samchyky in central west Ukraine, it is very decorative, colourful, and joyful style. It looks very contemporary despite its ancient roots. The Samchykivka painting is based on floral ornaments that act as talismans. Samchykivka is included in the National list of elements of intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine. She called her painting “The Horn of Plenty”; this being a symbol of health, peace, and prosperity. Her wish is that all these things are brought to Ukraine and to you. She used a lot of shades of blue and yellow which are the colours of the Ukraine flag. For Ukrainians, these are the colours of peace, prosperity and happiness.
